Hi there, love this pic; will have to go and see this one. Are you aware there’s a couple of Pill Boxes in Thornaby? One actually in Bassleton Woods & one about 100 yards away. I have pics of both that you’re more than welcome to use. Great site btw.

Having driven past this site countless times decided to stop for a look today. I can see why it was installed here as the position does provide for a good panoramic view of the area and on a good day the sea can be seen. I suppose the heavy concrete nature of WW2 structures means they will probably never deteriorate, and be in situ for many years to come…..
