The viaduct over Skelton Beck was originally part of the Whitby, Redcar and Middlesbrough Union Railway.

The line closed in 1958 and now carries goods trains to the Boulby Potash mines.

If anyone is interesting the Larpool viaduct near Whitby is very similar to this one, with the added benefit of being available for walking over……..

And if you keep walking over the larpool one you get very close to the secret cave!
