1884 Trough, Loftus Posted on June 28, 2012 by chris.twigg Show on map This small trough dated 1884Â is a bit of mystery, there seems to be 6 hole above the date, but I can’t think why. Any ideas ? Either there used to be a plaque stuck on using those holes or a different flavour of pop came out of each hole. Reply ↓
my first thought was a spout or valve but the feed pipe would usually be through the stonework, so plaque seems the best suggestion, maybe it had some form of water related quote or commemerated a local event. Reply ↓
