I have come across this in a number of places in the country where a group of houses, usually terraced houses are built on a road.
The road is given a name and the terrace of houses is given a different name. In this case the word “Terrace” only applies to the group of houses and does not apply to the whole road.
Am putting together a visual town quiz/tour for a ladies church group(July). Heard somewhere that John or Thomas Blatherwick was originally a beachcomber who managed to get enough money to start out as a builder. Above seems to have been his only enterprise. Would like to know more but that’s all I’ve got.
