A short ironstone trail can be seen just by the roadside in Fryup, it probably not much more than 10m in length.

it does make you wonder just how many more things like this there is waiting to be found?

What I think is in our favour is the fact that redevelopment in our area has generally been slow over the years, meaning that various remnants are still present today. There was also little restitution required in the past, so prospectors could very easily close down a site and walk away. I believe that nowadays tougher rules apply and any sites that cease must be returned to their original state.
